Parents and residents of Homer Community Consolidated School District 33C were left stunned this week when disturbing and vile social media posts were discovered – all written in 2018 and 2020 by a recently hired elementary school teacher, who goes by the Instagram name, “Kris_Robin_.”

In one post in 2020, Kris uses vile profanity aimed at police officers.

In another post in 2018, Kris brags about the results of a personality quiz: “Satan has nothing on you. The residents of hell are running a campaign for you to take your rightful place as their king. That’s how much of an a**hole you are.”

In response to the results, Kris writes, “I took a personality quiz on how big of an a**hole I am. And well. Not even mad about it.”

In another post in 2018 – this time on Facebook under the name “Kris Martin,” Kris opens up about his struggles during Mental Health Awareness Month, and openly discusses that he has “BI POLAR 1 DISORDER WITH MANIA AND PSYCHOSIS,” and that he has “done things in conditions of psychosis and mania that have been violent and hurtful.”

Nearly 58 million Americans live with a mental illness – and while many, including this publication, applaud Kris for coming forward with his struggles – those in the community – especially parents with students enrolled in Dist. 33C, have legitimate concerns when their children are involved.

Last Spring, Dist. 33C approved the hiring of a full time elementary school art teacher after a group of parents spoke out about the importance of art education.

Up until the Summer of 2022, Mr. Martin was on staff as a teacher at Worth Elementary School, where he taught art, but left a higher paying district to take a teaching position with Dist. 33C in Homer Township, where overall, the teacher pay is lower.

The next school board meeting is Tuesday, August 22nd, and the community is encouraged to attend to express their concerns with school officials.
