Last week, I saw a headline that deeply disturbed me.
There was an assassination plot against Ivanka Trump, President Trump’s daughter. The fact that this happened just one month after the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner is yet another chilling example of the vendetta against our President. What began as political opposition has now become something far darker — deeply personal, violent, and deliberately aimed at his entire family.
Ivanka Trump is a wife and mother to three young children, and now she has a target on her back simply because of who her father is. This hurts me deeply as an eldest daughter, an early childhood educator, and a woman who values the protection of family. The fact that the suspect had detailed plans of her home is beyond horrifying. Because of these serious security concerns, President Trump could not even attend his own son Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding celebration.
That alone should upset every American.
Attending your child’s wedding as a father is supposed to be a happy and joyous occasion — not something stolen by fear and threats.
This is not an isolated incident — it is part of a disturbing and escalating pattern of hatred and violence directed at President Trump and his entire family.
Over the past two years, President Trump himself has survived multiple assassination attempts. Just last month, a gunman opened fire at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. And now, only weeks later, authorities uncovered a credible assassination plot targeting his daughter Ivanka.
Just one day after that foiled plot against Ivanka, another shooting occurred on May 23 near the White House. A man approached a Secret Service checkpoint and opened fire on officers. The Secret Service returned fire, the suspect was struck and later died, and a bystander was wounded. President Trump was inside the White House at the time and was unharmed.
These back-to-back incidents in such a short period of time are deeply alarming.
I can hardly imagine the real human toll this is taking on the Trump family. From the outside looking in, my heart breaks for them. I have supported President Trump since his first run in 2016, and I continue to see him as a strong, capable man who is willing to do whatever it takes to protect this country. Yet the constant attacks never seem to end.
This goes far beyond politics. What we are witnessing is spiritual warfare.
As Ephesians 6:12 tells us, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
Evil hates what is good, and the Trump family has become a lightning rod that triggers intense, almost uncontrollable rage from those who oppose truth and righteousness. Simply mentioning the Trump name — or anyone associated with him — often provokes feral, rabid, and radical responses.
The hatred is no longer rational. It has become visceral and demonic in nature.
God has clearly placed a hedge of protection around President Trump and his entire family. I am deeply grateful that the suspect is now in custody.
These events have renewed my commitment to pray daily for the safety of President Trump, Ivanka, and the whole family. I encourage every reader to do the same — to pray without ceasing, to refuse to stay silent in the face of political violence, and to reject the idea that this level of hatred is normal or something we should simply ignore.
I wrote this article not out of fleeting emotion, but to steady my own heart and to speak clearly: this is not okay. I refuse to let fear or anger silence my voice. Even in the midst of such darkness, there is always hope.
God is still sovereign, and light will always — ultimately — prevail.
