Chicago 13th Ward Republican Committeeman David Krupa led a verbal assault on embattled Illinois Speaker Mike Madigan, leading a march on Madigan’s home office in the West Lawn neighborhood.

“Illinois must move beyond the widespread corruption, the shady deals, and now, the outright bribery uncovered by U.S. Attorney John Lausch. Mike Madigan must resign,” Krupa stated.

Krupa was accompanied by 40 anti-Madigan protesters, hoisting signs along Pulaski Road calling for the Speaker’s resignation and encouraging the FBI and U.S. Attorney’s office to continue their investigation.

Former Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica, State Senate Candidate Tom Mccullagh (R-49), Republican candidate for the U.S. House Jesus Solorio (IL-04), Chicago GOP Chair Steve Boulton and 39th Ward GOP committeeman Barry Bebart also took part in the protest.

“There are multiple FBI investigations happening right now reviewing the ties between Madigan and major Illinois corporations. The U.S. Attorney and his team are focusing on endless corruption that continues to lead them on a path to the Speaker’s office. Madigan should spare Illinois any additional drama. The handwriting is on the wall, he must step down,” stated Boulton.

Madigan’s office released a statement as soon as the protest began, characterizing the protesters as right-wing, Trump-supporting, extremists and questioning Krupa’s integrity.

“He can attack me all he wants, to try to divert attention,” said Krupa, shrugging off Madigan’s press release, “but that won’t change what is in that Federal filing against ComEd.”

Mike Madigan is:
Chairman – Democratic Party of Illinois – funds available as of June 30: $2,449,732.63
Chairman – Democratic Majority PAC – funds available as of June 30: $4,300,413.48
Chairman – 13th Ward Democratic Org. – funds available as of June 30: $2,235,207.36
Chairman – Friends of Michael Madigan – funds available as of June 30: $13,630,169.24

That is a total of $22,615,522.71 under Madigan’s direct and personal control, and subject to his personal decision on political contributions to Democratic candidates and officials.
