Pritzker’s Tax Grab: Families Face Massive Hikes on Haircuts, Oil Changes, and More!

By Mark Weyermuller -

Tuesday, I joined families and 1st responders placing 2996 American Flags on the Village Green on Maple Street in Winnetka, Illinois. The tribute will stand for one day and be taken down at sunset on September 11, 2019. About half the group placing flags were children who are not born before that fateful day 18 years ago.

That day 18 years ago, September 11, 2001, four airplanes were hijacked by 19 Muslim terrorists using only box cutter knives as their weapons. The extremists crashed two planes into the World Trade Center in New York City, one into the Pentagon in Washington D.C. In another field in Pennsylvania, Americans stood up to the hijackers and sacrificed themselves to protect intended victims somewhere in the D.C. Beltway.

This is also a day to remember the Benghazi attack of 2012  which resulted in the deaths of four Americans. They were US Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens; USFS officer Sean Smith; CIA contractors Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty. This attack and actions (or lack of) continue to be an item of discussion as Hillary Clinton continues on with life. She was Secretary of State at that time. She blamed a YouTube video for  a "spontaneous" attack, yet later it was shown to be a well-planned, deliberate attack on the American embassy in Benghazi.

I’m curious about parents out here placing flags and people who come by Wednesday to see the display will explain to their children what it means. For me, each flag represents one dead American killed that day. I have a small lawn display at my house nearby that includes a list of the 3000 people killed September 11, 2001.

Discussion continues today as President Donald J. Trump, first responders, the intelligence community, and our military try to keep America safe. The President is attempting to negotiate peace with countries including North Korea and ideological radicalist groups like the Taliban. National Security Advisor John Bolton was fired or resigned this week, depending on who you ask. Threats will continue and America must always be vigilant.

They say time heals all wounds, yet I suspect this is not the case. For the families who lost loved ones that day, the heartache will never disappear.

God Bless America, United We Stand. We will never forget 9-11-2001.
