Monday, several hundred people stood outside of 69 West Washington Street in downtown Chicago  to protest Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx. She is county official that dropped 16 felony counts, including providing false information to the police, a grand jury agreed Empire actor Jussie Smollett should face in court.

Over 300 people protested Foxx outside her Chicago office. The Chicago Fraternal of Police organized a protest, which included many active and retired members of law enforcement.  They blame Foxx and the Cook County Court system for much of the violence, murders, and unrest in the city specifically for their lack of prosecuting many crimes as their protest signs showed.

One of the protesters was the father of Ryan Kearns.  He says his son was murdered, but the state’s attorney chose not to fully investigate the murder and bring charges against the alleged offenders. Kearns' father says his son is a “forgotten victim.”

There was also a smaller counter protest with Kim Foxx supporters. Mixed in that group were other activists covering a variety of issues, including blaming President Trump for everything.

The protest broke up after about 90 minutes.  There was about as many media members as protesters – which is very typical in Chicago.

Also missed in MSM coverage was the number of Trump supporters wearing MAGA hats. Much of the Chicago media coverage focused on what they called “dueling protests” giving more credibility to the activists protesting against the police.

For full disclosure, I support law and order and I support the police.
