LAKE COUNTY – Thursday, the Lake County Right to Life PAC withdrew their endorsement of Sam McCann as being the strongest pro-life candidate running for governor in Illinois.
"We were betrayed by a wolf in sheep's clothing," the group said in a press release. "We endorsed Senator Sam McCann based on his perfect candidate survey as well as his Pro-life voting record.
They attached a copy of the mailer saying State Rep. Tom Morrison was a "Rauner RINO."
"Rep. Tom Morrison is one of the most moral and conservative Representatives Illinois has ever had. His voting record is perfect on every issue that deals with life and family. Tom is also a #1 target for Speaker Madigan and the Democrats," the group said.
"This mailer was clearly intended to aid Tom's opponent and in doing so ensure the defeat of Tom Morrison, who we (Illinois) cannot afford to lose," they said. " Please do not vote for Sam McCann based on his betrayal and apparent ties to Speaker Madigan."
