Manufacturers met with President Trump Friday, including Chicago area's Patricia Miller
WASHINGTON DC – Friday, the National Association of Manufacturers announced the findings of their latest quarterly survey showing 93% of their 20,000 members are optimistic about their industry's future – the highest number NAM has recorded in 20 years.
Jay Timmons, NAM's president and CEO made public the numbers during a meeting with President Donald Trump, who was delighted with the news.
"My administration is working every day to make it easier to build, hire and grow in America," the president said. "We're removing job- regulations and lifting the burdens on American industry like, I would say, have never been lifted before."
Timmons told the president that their survey taken before the November showed members saying American manufacturing on the right track down to 26%.
"This latest survey shows over 60% of our members now think American manufacturing is on the right track," Simmons said.
Members of NAM's board of directors introduced themselves to the president, including Patricia Miller, who is owner of the 40-year old Matrix 4, based in Chicago's northwest suburban Woodstock.
Miller also serves on Illinois' Technology & Manufacturing Association's Board of Directors.
