Limiting the the size, scope, and cost of government is a hot topic as people leave Illinois due to high taxes coupled with massive spending and borrowing. There are people concerned and they are called the Tea Party.

The Illinois Tea Party held their annual golf outing and dinner last Friday at The Links at Carillon in Plainfield, Illinois. The event was organized by Denise Cattoni with these goals in mind: Advocating for Limited Government, Free Markets, and Fiscal Responsibility.

The focus this year was on National Security, which is why the attendees were thrilled to have Colonel Larry Kaifesh, who just got back in the states from his 6th deployment, as the keynote Guest Speaker.  He spoke about the complicated foreign policies decisions being made where we need much better leadership in Washington.

The night included beautiful patriot music from Bert Cattoni along with a presentation on fiscal responsibility from Matt Paprocki who works with Illinois Policy Institute.  Demetria DeMonte spoke for the Trump for President campaign and as expected, was very well received.  Despite media reports, there is a huge grassroots effort in Illinois to elect Donald Trump especially among Tea Party conservatives.

Denise Cattoni said, "We work yearlong on finding, vetting, and assisting fiscally conservative candidates. With the upcoming election so critical in Illinois, we have much to do. As the Republican nominee for President. Trump was well represented at the outing. The signs we were able to obtain from his campaign were scarfed up quickly, with many requests for more."

Another highlight included an appearance talk radio superstar Stephanie Trussell who is on Sunday nights 9pm-midnight on WLS 890-AM. Her focus is on conservative talk radio with many local and national guests along with taking many calls on the live show. She has a segment which has people call in titled, "What keeps me up at night."  For listeners here in Illinois, there is no shortage of issues to talk about.

The Illinois Tea Party has been quite active in Illinois, along with as many as 50 smaller local Tea party and patriot groups. Their limited government theme can be accomplished with less taxes, less spending, less regulation, and less borrowing. I think it is safe to say everybody in Illinois is TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY.
