CHICAGO – Technology & Manufacturing Association's President and CEO Steve Rauschenberger knows manufacturing – but he also knows – like few others – the real issues breaking Illinois taxpayers' backs and keeping the vulnerable dependent on state government. 

After all he served as the Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman for several years when Republicans were in the majority, few know the inside story better. In an informative conversation with Upstream Ideas' host Dan Proft, Rauschenberger was open and frank assessing the current situation.

Rauschenberger calls for limiting elected terms, re-evaluating Medicaid, reforming the K-12 education system – and suggests the reason it hasn't happened thus far is (after a pause …) "intellectual sloth" or the "Stockholm Syndrome." (See 50:00)

Pretty harsh assessment, and one Illinoisans would do well to hear:
