Editor's note: Before Saturday afternoon's rally, Walsh wrote the following on his Facebook page, which was "liked" by 4,678 and "shared" 852 times, suggesting his explosive comments calling for the American system to be "blown up" are striking a chord with thousands …

By Mark Weyermuller –

It was just an old-fashioned political rally promoting freedom, liberty, and opportunity with Walsh Freedom this past Saturday afternoon. Former congressman and current talk radio host Joe Walsh and his wife Helene hosted about 1000 grassroot conservatives at the Diplomat West Banquet Hall in Elmhurst, Illinois.  The event was titled "Bring it on: 2016."

Superstar Walsh Freedom coordinator Barbara Hinks Babbey organized the event.

The event was standing room only with pot luck appetizers & desserts, dancing, and political speeches limited to "34 seconds" each. This gave the crowd time to see a bunch of candidates and grassroot organizers.

Some notables appearing onstage included Pastor Corey Brooks from New Beginnings Church, Carol Davis from the West Suburban Patriots, Paul Serwatka (IL Rep 66) Rob Drobinski (IL Rep 62), Dan McConchie (IL State Senate 26), Jacob Bramel (IL Rep 76), Dr. Nick Stella (11 District Congress)  Tonia Khouri (11 District Congress) James Marter for Illinois United States Senate, and me. Lennie Jarrett was there, too, from The Heartland Institute promoting their event next Saturday for School Choice Week 2016.

I announced on stage the screening of the film 13 Hours: The Secret  Soldiers of Benghazi which will be showing this Thursday at the Pickwick in Park Ridge, Illinois. The theater is just blocks from Hillary Clinton's childhood home.

A highlight was God Bless America sung by Agne Giedraitis and America the Beautiful sung by Joan D'Vorak. This was followed by line dancing by an excited, lively crowd.

Joe Walsh can be heard in Chicago weeknights 5pm-7pm on WIND 560 AM and 3pm-5pm in New York on WVNJ 1160.  The show is also expected to be added soon to an Atlanta radio station.

Expect to hear much  more from Joe Walsh (the new voice of freedom) along with this large group of grassroot conservatives fighting for limited government along with freedom, liberty, and opportunity.
