NEW HAMPSHIRE – In the waning days before the Iowa caucuses, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump was endorsed by former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, and later, Duck Dynasty's Willie Robertson – both celebrities – one from politics, the other from a popular reality show.

Friday, just days before the New Hampshire primary, Ohio Governor John Kasich is rolling out his celebrity supporters – talk show host Montel Williams, and actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzeneggar – aka "The Terminator."

Latest polls show Kasich in fourth or fifth place in next Tuesday's GOP presidential primary.

Williams wrote in an op-ed published today that, "I left the Republican Party in the early 1990s to become an independent. But I’m now excited about the GOP for the first time since then – and it’s because Ohio Gov. John Kasich is running for president."

"If there’s one thing 22 years in the military taught me, it’s that we need an adult in the White House. Someone who’ll stand up to our enemies abroad," Williams wrote in USA Today. "Someone who is responsible enough to command the world’s most powerful military. Someone who’ll rise above the din of toxicity infecting our national dialogue and unite our bitterly divided public. Someone who can work with both parties while remaining true to his core beliefs. That adult is Kasich."

Friday night, Kasich and Schwarzeneggar will be on a town hall conference call at 7:15 CST with the actor. Anyone's invited. RSVP at: JohnKasich.com/ArnoldTownHall.

  1. Arnold Schwarzenegger turned out to be a huge disappointment as a Republican governor and did not help his party at all so why in the world would Kasich think the endorsement of The former movie star would be a help? Seems shallow to me.
