In the name of national security, the interest of the state and the so-called greater good, freedom continues to come under attack by government officials who believe that they alone possess the power to determine, define and distribute our constitutional rights. John W. Whitehead argues that those who founded this country believed that our rights were given to us by God—and that government cannot create nor can they extinguish our God-given rights.
