WASHINGTON DC – Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R) released the following statement in the aftermath of the targeted attacks on the Dallas Police Department last night in downtown Dallas, TX:
“What happened in Dallas last night was an act of hate, anger, and ill-placed revenge. This was racially motivated and directly targeted. The events earlier this week are deeply upsetting, and my heart aches for the families of those lives lost. And those investigations are underway.
“But what happened last night was a coordinated, premeditated, targeted attack. It is a heinous crime on the entire law enforcement community and the definition of an act of terrorism. We cannot continue to let hate groups and terrorists attack our men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line every day to protect their community, their country, and the freedoms we enjoy day in and day out.
“Every day, but especially this day, we stand with our law enforcement. This thin blue line needs our support. I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the heroic officers murdered in the line of duty, and my prayers are with the Dallas PD and the law enforcement community.”
