CHICAGO – The Illinois Republican Party continues its publicity campaign attack on House Speaker Mike Madigan, ridiculing rules that protect his power and mocking Democrats that promise to support him in the upcoming House leadership election.

The IL GOP's contest correlates with the release of a new video reviewing the 46 years Mike Madigan has served in the Illinois House, reminding Illinoisans of good and bad news that has passed over four and a half decades of the state's Democrat control:
"Boss Madigan treats Illinois like his own personal kingdom, undermining democracy and disrespecting taxpayers," Illinois GOP spokesman Aaron DeGroot said in a statement Friday. "That's why the Illinois Republican Party is announcing the contest to win your very own Boss Madigan Starter Kit.
"House Democrats need to be reminded that their political patron rules over them with an iron fist, putting the needs of his machine before everyday Illinoisans."
