WASHINGTON – This week, Congressman Randy Hultgren (IL-14) was honored by the American Conservative Union Foundation for his commitment to conservative values, scoring an 88 percent on the group's 2016 scorecard. Hultgren's lifetime average on ACUF's scorecard is 85.25 percent.

Currently, eight of Illinois' 20 delegates to the U.S. Congress are Republican, but only Hultgren and Congressman Darin LaHood (IL-18) scored in the 80s. Next came Peter Roskam and John Shimkus in the 60s, Mike Bost and Randy Davis in the 50s, Adam Kinzinger in the 40s, and former Congressman Bob Dold, who ACUF scored at 12.

“The 2016 ACUF Award for Conservative Achievement is given to those Members of Congress who receive an 80% or above score in our annual ACU Ratings,” said Chairman Matt Schlapp. “We applaud Congressman Hultgren for his continued support of conservative values, and working to achieve commonsense conservative solutions for the people of Illinois.”

Hultgren is proud of his conservative values.

“Throughout my work in Congress I have been steadfast in my conservative values and principles, and I have found them to be effective guideposts when it comes to finding solutions that actually work for my constituents. I am deeply honored to accept this award from the American Conservative Union Foundation and will continue to stand up for the principles that have made our country the envy of the world,” said Rep. Hultgren.
