WASHINGTON – The tax cut measure that may not allow Illinois' high property and recently-hiked income taxes to be fully deducted as they currently are on federal returns could be at the center of contention in negotiations between the U.S. Senate and U.S. House Republicans.

Monday, Speaker Paul Ryan tapped Congressmen Peter Roskam and John Shimkus to be two of the nine the House will send into arrive at an agreeable compromise.

According to The Hill, the conference will be led by House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-Texas) and include four other GOP members of the tax-writing panel: Reps. Devin Nunes (Calif.), Peter Roskam (Ill.), Diane Black (Tenn.) and Kristi Noem (S.D.). Roskam is chairman of the Ways and Means tax-policy subcommittee,

Shimkus is a panel member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
