While most Americans welcomed 2018 from the comfort of their own homes, not as many were convinced America is headed in the right direction as the New Year ensues.

Forty percent (40%) of Likely U.S. Voters now think the country is heading in the right direction, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey for the week ending December 28.

A different Rasmussen Reports survey found last week that 66% of American Adults planned to be at home at midnight when the new year arrived. Fourteen percent (14%) were at a friend’s house, while five percent (5%) were at a restaurant or bar. Another 10% planned to be "somewhere else."
