WASHINGTON DC – Illinois' senior US Senator Dick Durbin – not up for re-election until 2020 – participated in the Senate Judiciary Committee's public meeting to hear Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's testimony about what she describes as sexual violence committed on her by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh 36 years ago.

Kavanaugh denies he was at the party where Ms. Ford claims the assault took place and that he is completely innocent. Earlier, Senator Durbin asked Ms. Ford how sure she was that then-17 year old Kavanaugh was her attacker. Ford said, "100%." Durbin then tweeted out Friday morning – after the hearing:

100% certain. pic.twitter.com/f824POqt8L

During his time of questioning Brett Kavanaugh, Durbin was agitated. He challenged the Supreme Court nominee to himself request an FBI investigation of the allegations.

“I’ve got a suggestion for you. Right now, turn to your left, in the front row, to [White House Counsel] Don McGahn,” Durbin said. “Ask him to suspend this hearing and nomination process until the FBI completes its investigation of the charges made by Dr. Ford and others.

Video of exchange HERE.

BTW, one of our avid Illinois Review readers pointed out Friday morning that Juanita Broaddrick was outside the Senate hearing Thursday afternoon and she said:

“Back in 1999 Sen. Chuck Schumer, Sen. [Dianne] Feinstein, and Sen. [Dick] Durbin refused to read my investigation and record with the independent counsel. Completely refused even [though] they were asked by the committee and the committee said this woman has credible evidence,” Broaddrick told Breitbart News. “I had all the what, who, when, wheres, and how of my rape by Bill Clinton. They refused, Durbin, Schumer, Feinstein, not only didn’t believe mine. They didn’t give themselves a chance to believe it because they refused to read it. That’s disgusting.”
