October 30, 2018 (CHICAGO) – Illinois Right to Life Action (IRLA) announced on Friday at its 46th Annual Banquet that State Representative Jeanne Ives will join the organization’s board of directors at the completion of her term in the Illinois General Assembly.

During the event, Ives was also awarded the Circle of Excellence Award for her courage and dedication to the pro-life cause. Ives will bring numerous years of experience in elected office and state politics to the board of IRLA, in addition to her strong pro-life commitment.

In 2012, Ives, a former West Point graduate, was elected state representative for the 42nd district of Illinois. Since then, she’s remained an outspoken advocate for life in the General Assembly. IRLA has repeatedly given Ives the highest rating on their pro-life voter guide for her consistently pro-life voting record.

In the spring of 2018, Ives ran for governor in the Illinois Primary Election against pro-abortion Governor Bruce Rauner, in which she garnered the pro-life vote and came within a slim margin of victory.

As a board director, Ives will help to advise, assist, and oversee the work and initiatives of IRLA. She will be inducted to the board immediately following the end of her term in Springfield.

“We extend a warm welcome to Representative Ives, and we look forward to working with her as a part of the Illinois Right to Life Action team,” said Rosemary Hackett, board president. “Moving forward, we expect great things as we execute our new vision for Illinois Right to Life Action. With Jeanne’s help, we know we will be an even stronger pro-life force in Illinois.”

“Elected officials in this state have gotten away with trampling over women and the unborn for far too long,” said Ives of her new role with IRLA. “It’s time to start holding Illinois politicians accountable. I’m ready to get to work.”

Please join IRLA in welcoming Representative Jeanne Ives as a new board member. To contact us, email [email protected] or call 312-422-9300.
