Pritzker Rebukes ‘Do-Nothing Democrats’ who ‘Lack Guts, Gumption’ Over Trans and Immigrant Scapegoating Following 2024 Losses

By Nancy Thorner -

By extension, the Democratic party (at least the Southern branch) was the advocate for slavery through the Civil War, and constituted the bulk of the sheet-and-pointy hat brigade through the 1930’s. The Civil Rights Act of 1965 was actively opposed by Democrats, and only signed by Lyndon Johnson through the efforts of Congressional Republicans. Where is the shame? Should not all Democrats in public office resign and retreat to isolated mountaintops for perpetual penance? We can only hope.

Instead, we are witnessing the weaponizing of politics by Democrats. Certain accusations – including racism, white supremacism and sexual abuse – have been elevated to the status of unforgivable sins, at least when Republicans are privy to such charges. As such, Democrats seek to seize the high moral ground leading to the 2020 election. They seem able to do so with little risk, as the succession order in Virginia is solidly Democratic, as was the appointment to replace former Senator Al Franken when he avoided charges for sexually-based allegations leveled against him.

Northam seeks to redeem self

In refusing to resign as governor, Northam told CBS News on Sunday, February 10, 2019:

"Right now, Virginia needs someone that can heal. There's no better person to do that than a doctor. Virginia also needs someone who is strong, who has empathy, who has courage and who has a moral compass. And that's why I'm not going anywhere. I have learned from this. I have a lot more to learn. But we're in a unique opportunity now.

Having studied up on racial history Northam plans to make racial justice a cornerstone of his governorship in the remainder of his term. How interesting, when elsewhere in the interview Northam called slaves "indentured servants," for which Northam was promptly reminded that this was also “known as slavery.”  Nevertheless, Northam claims that because he has grown in what his perception of the use of blackface was back then, he can now fight for and promote equality (racial unity).

Might the entire “black face” issue represent a dimpCrap ploy to deflect from the outrage over Northam’s Infanticide law, with black face collateral damage to save his political career?

Northam’s Infanticide law

Regarding Northam's claim of possessing a moral compass because as a doctor and pediatrician he knows how to heal, John and Andy Schlafly, in continuing the practice of their late mother, Phyllis Schlafly, whose wrote weekly commentaries over many years, chose as the subject for their weekly commentary, dated Feb. 5, 2019: Gov. Northam as Poster Boy for Abortion.

As described in the Schlafly Brothers' column, and as stated by Gov. Ralph Northam (D) in a radio interview, Northam seemed to endorse killing an infant after it has already been delivered alive, specifically, in the case of a baby surviving an abortion.

In the scenario described by Northam, “a baby would be born alive and resuscitated if necessary, and then doctors and the mother could ‘have a discussion’ which, based on context, would determine whether or not the child would be killed. While pro-life advocates view all abortion as infanticide, what Northam described would be infanticide by any definition.”

Gosnell film for purchase on DVD

Now available for purchase is Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer. It was released on 2/05/2019 as a DVD and can be obtained from many different venues. It is rated PG-13. [Warning: Viewers may find it offensive.]

The movie did well last fall despite efforts to limit its showing in movie theaters, but with states now electing to allowing 3rd term abortions up to the day of birth, the release of this movie came just as the right time to show how babies aborted in the third term do feel pain and can survive outside the mother's womb.  As such It is a move that must be viewed, as the abortion issue remains an emotionally charged political issue.

Director Nick Searcy’s crime drama is based on investigative journalists Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer’s bestselling 2017 nonfiction expose Gosnell: The Untold Story of America's Most Prolific Serial Killer. Earl Billings plays Kermit Gosnell, an abortion doctor who was convicted for three counts of murder and the involuntary manslaughter of one of his patients in 2013. Dean Cain stars as the detective who brought his illegal practices and crimes to light.

Shouldn't ghoulish baby killers be discouraged?  A 2/10/2019 poll by The Federalist reveals that 81 percent of all Americans — including 82 percent of women and 66 percent of abortion supporters — say abortion should be banned after the first trimester of a pregnancy.  A  new poll  by the non-partisan firm YouGov found that two out of three Americans who self-identify as “pro-choice” oppose abortion the day before an infant is born, and removing medical care for a viable infant.

Already the effects of third semester abortion, as allowed in New York State, has already begun, when ruled in New York State that brutally murdering unborn babies no longer a crime.

CA writer’s humorous and political astute thoughts about abortion

Burt Prelutsky (born 1940) is an American screenwriter, newspaper columnist and author.  As Burt Prelutsky wrote recently in one of his  almost daily commentaries entitled ABORTING ABORTIONS, available through subscription only:

"You have to sympathize with Ed Gillespie.  Somewhere, the guy who lost Virginia’s gubernatorial election just a few months ago has been glued to his TV set, watching his opponent being tarred and feathered because 35 years ago, he thought it was hysterically funny to be photographed in blackface or wearing a Ku Klux Klan hood.

If his opposition operatives had come up with the Yearbook photo last October, today he’d be Governor Gillespie and be one of the GOP’s kingmakers in 2020.  Gillespie should, at the very least, demand his money back.

Although Northam tried to sugarcoat his pronouncement by saying he only approved of these murders when the baby was born with a mental or physical handicap, he came off sounding an awful lot like Hitler’s favorite physician, Dr. Josef Mengele, who also approved of doing away with babies who didn’t quite measure up to the Aryan ideal.

When it comes to abortions, one thing I never hear anybody talking about is what would possess a woman, any woman, to carry a baby around in her stomach for nine months and then decide, at he last possible second, not to let it live.

However, even for women, from what I’ve heard, pregnancy isn’t a very pleasant experience — what with morning sickness, the extra 30 or 40 pounds, the strain on the bladder, the super-sensitivity to odors — but the discomfort and even the pain of delivery are all worth it when the payoff is the miracle of a baby.

What sort of strange and spooky creature, what sort of a weird combination of a masochist and a sadist is it, who endures all that and then decides to end it with a cold-blooded murder after nine months?

Then I’ve never even understood the 20-week rule; that's five months.  How can it possibly take a woman five months before she decides to pull the plug on the little person she can feel moving around inside her?

What changed between the first month and the fifth?  Did she simply balk at the notion of a baby shower, knowing that she simply wasn’t the sort who was up for all the oohing and aahing that traditionally accompanies the unveiling of every blanket and tiny pair of booties?"
