220px-DannyKDavis113thCHICAGO – Eleven-term Congressman Danny Davis (IL-07) is backing Democrat presidential wannabe Kamala Harris among 20 plus Democrats – and his announcement this week was met with a stepped-up primary challenge.

Davis likes the black female senator from California that in the first debate accused former Vice President Joe Biden of being supportive of segregationists and busing.

"We are convinced that as a result of [Kamala Harris'] leadership roles as District Attorney, Attorney General and U. S. Senator from California, she has the leadership ability and skill to lead this nation," the 77 year old Davis said in a statement.

"She has serious command of the issues, is a gifted communicator, and is filled with confidence which is necessary to inspire and motivate of the American people. She recognized that education is the key and is willing to adequately fund it, including being fair to teachers in terms of their compensation."

But Danny Davis is facing his own primary challenge this time around – and it's by a younger woman that has won someone's attention among the progressive branch of the Democrats – someone shared a sizable data base with her, and as of the end of June, she's been actively emailing her thoughts to possible supporters.

Kina Collins' hangs out with gun control activists, pushes for Medicare for All, calls for the impeachment of President Trump and defends the four first-year Congresswomen that calls themselves "The Squad."

The day after President Trump's July rally in South Carolina, Collins wrote,

Last night at a rally, Donald Trump's supporters were chanting "Send her back!" targeted at Rep. Ilhan Omar. As a black woman, this was hurtful to see as I and other children who look like me have heard this chant from bullies growing up all our lives. It is racist, and it is dangerous.

But instead of being afraid, I am fired up now more than ever to keep fighting and win this seat in order to stand shoulder to shoulder with Rep. Omar and other women of color in Congress in 2020.

Collins is saying that Danny Davis just is not Leftist enough. And she's angry with incumbents like Danny Davis that haven't called for the President's impeachment.

I want it to be clear – I stand with representatives like Maxine Waters who have been vocal from day one with calls to "impeach this man." Because Democratic leaders have slow-walked this issue, we have quickly descended into one of the darkest and most corrupt periods in our country's history. There are consequences for the choices we make in how we proceed next.

Collins has yet to indicate who she'll support in the 2020 presidential primary.
