37th House vacancy draws several interested candidates

NEW LENOX – Lots of interest is being shown in the 37th House District seat State Rep. Margo McDermed will be leaving when she retires after the 2020 election. At least three different candidates have expressed interest in succeeding McDermed – New Lenox Mayor Tim Ballard, Joliet Community College Trustee Patty Dieters and Ozinga Bros, Inc. executive Tim Ozinga.

Petitions to get on the Illinois GOP 2020 Primary can be circulated as early as September 3, and the groundwork is being laid.
