Mayor Johnson: Chicago ‘Police Dept. Will Not Ever Cooperate with ICE’

By Randy Rossi -

One of the critical foundations of civilization for thousands of years was the intact family unit with a mother and father raising their children. Both were needed to serve as role models for children and society reinforced and supported the intact family unit putting pressure on men and women to be married when they had children and to dedicate their lives to raising their children to insure that they became good citizens. Sadly today, many children are being raised without their fathers which is causing horrific pain to those children and society.

In 1960, only 5-8% of American kids in America were raised without their fathers. Today, 41% of American kids are raised without their fathers which has caused massive harm to their kids and our society. Here are some hard statistics which illustrate the great harm being raised without a father causes:

  • 63% of young people who commit suicide were raised without their father
  • 90% of homeless people were raised without their father
  • 85% of kids with behavioral problems were raised without their father
  • 80% of rapists were raised without their father
  • 71% of high school dropouts were raised without their father
  • 75% of drug addicts were raised without their father
  • 85% of youths in prison were raised without their father
  • 71% of pregnant teenagers were raised without their father
  • 70% of children raised without a father live a life of crime and/or poverty (my criminology professor in 1970)
  • 91% of adult men in prison were raised without a father (Fox News interview with criminology psychologist)

Civilization has known the importance of the intact family for thousands of years and put in place stringent rules regarding marriage and having children to insure that kids were raised with both a mother and father to insure their civility. Men and women who had children and weren’t married were put under intense social pressure to get married. Shaming was a powerful tool that society used to insure that men and women acted responsibly when it came to having children. Sadly today, that pressure on men and women to get married when a women is pregnant and create an intact family unit is gone and considered “judgmental”. Tragically, as the figures above show, nature is harshly judgmental on kids raised without their fathers. That’s unfair because those kids didn’t make the decision not to be raised with their fathers, their parents did.

In our bizarre new world, instead of marrying the fathers of their children, we have created a culture in which many women now “marry” the government when they have children which provides “welfare” to support them and their children. The government is not a successful “Father Figure” as the statistics above prove. If we want to have happy kids and civilized moral culture, we need to get back to one of the fundamental core values of civilization, having successful intact families with a mother and father who are dedicated to successfully raising their children. The fact that this even needs to be said is an indicator of how far our culture has fallen.
