CHICAGO – The HeyJackass.com website reports thus far this Labor Day weekend, nine killed in Chicago and 31 wounded – but that's just the latest.
"Since opening day on Friday, May 24th, we’ve tallied 154 homicides plus another 850+ shot & wounded. This particular weekend, like other holiday weekends, tend to be stupider than most, so we’ll no doubt be adding to those totals before it’s all over," the website writes.
They then compared this year's shootings to the ongoing tragedy marking Labor Day weekends in Chicago for the last six years:
- 2018 Labor Day weekend: 11 killed, 21 wounded
- 2017 Labor Day weekend: 7 killed, 40 wounded
- 2016 Labor Day weekend: 13 killed, 53 wounded
- 2015 Labor Day weekend: 10 killed, 46 wounded
- 2014 Labor Day weekend: 7 killed, 36 wounded
- 2013 Labor Day weekend: 12 killed, 27 wounded
This record in a city with some of the toughest gun laws in America. Gun control activists and gun control lawmakers dominate the Illinois legislature. The only thing stopping them from tougher controls is the US Constitution.
Is more gun control laws really the solution?
Ask the cops. The Cook County State’s Attorney does not prosecute people caught with illegal guns. Cops cannot do stop and frisk. And Chicago is a sanctuary city, where cops cannot call ICE to remove Mexican gang members and drug dealers.
The Bible is not allowed in Public Schools. Moral values are lacking in our government. Babies are killed every day in larger numbers
