WHEATON – "She's here for the people, and not for the government …"

That's why Democrat Congressman Sean Casten's neighbor Bill Hall put up a sign in his yard for Jeanne ives in the 6th CD's March 2020 GOP Primary, he says in a new campaign ad released by the Ives campaign.

Ives has been outspoken in her criticism of Casten – who defeated former Congressman Peter Roskam in the 2018 Blue Wave that swept Illinois. Casten lines up with the Leftist of the Lefties in the US House. He called this week for President Donald Trump's impeachment before the controversial phone call transcript, the whistleblower complaint and other pertinent information was released.

Casten is among the strongest Trump haters in the US House.

But apparently he's not worried about Republican/conservative voters coalescing around one Republican and defeating Casten's re-election – Trump didn't win in the 6th CD in 2016. He applauded Nancy Pelosi's call for an impeachment inquiry this week.

"I applaud Speaker Pelosi’s decision to open an impeachment inquiry against President Trump," an email to Casten supporters said. "When I called for an impeachment inquiry earlier this year, I was one of the first freshmen from a recently flipped district to do so."

Casten said the findings of Mueller’s report were alarming. The report raised serious questions about the security of US elections and the integrity of the President.

"Now, we have learned that the President attempted to pressure a second foreign government — Ukraine — to investigate a political opponent and interfere in our elections," Casten said. "The President has put his own political interests above the will of the American people and his duty to uphold the Constitution."

Ives responded to Casten.

"Sean Casten began pursuing impeachment before the transcript of President Trump’s July call with Ukraine President Zelensky was released, and before intel committees had obtained the whistleblower complaint," Ives said. "Casten is a bitter partisan – uninterested in evidence and indifferent to policy solutions."

Ives went on to say Democrats in Congress have "no serious governing agenda."

"They have no workable ideas to solve the problems with which most Americans are faced. So they are using a fanatical obsession with impeachment as cover," she said in a statement.

The House Democrats haven't moved on on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), private health insurance choices and quality of care, securing the borders or providing a path for permanent status for DREAMERS, she said.

"The families and businesses of the Sixth District are reasonable, responsible people. They deserve a representative who will work to increase opportunity for them and their children, and who is focused on solving problems rather than exacerbating them," Ives said. "Sean Casten is only interested in obstructing his political opponents and stirring up animosity. He should be a TV pundit – not a member of Congress. The 2020 election is about our future quality of life, not their past political failures. I am confident the voters in IL-6 recognize that."
