WASHINGTON DC – The conservative Club for Growth has launched digital advertisements in four key Congressional Districts, including Illinois' 14th CD. They point is to encourage voters to tell their 2018-elected representatives to "stop supporting the phony impeachment process and instead start solving problems. Part of the reason they picked IL's 14th CD is it is among four districts nationwide whose seats were flipped from Republican to Democratic in 2018.

“Democrats know they can’t win in 2020 with a socialist agenda so instead of winning at the ballot box, they are throwing a Hail Mary with the impeachment process,” said Club for Growth President David McIntosh. “Representatives Katie Porter, Xochitl Torres Small, Abigail Spanberger, and Lauren Underwood were elected promising moderation and independence, and voters deserve better than their toxic and reflexive allegiance to the Democrat’s Socialist agenda.”

This summer, Club for Growth released an analysis of the voting records of newly elected Democrat members of the House of Representatives in districts that were previously held by Republicans. Rep. Katie Porter (CA-45) has voted with Speaker Nancy Pelosi 100%, Rep. Xochitl Torres Small (NM-02) has voted with Speaker Nancy Pelosi 92.86% of the time, Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-07) has voted with Speaker Nancy Pelosi 92.86% of the time, and Rep. Lauren Underwood (IL-14) has voted with Speaker Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time.

Currently, an array of Republicans are collecting petition signatures to be on the 2020 GOP Primary ballot in the 14th CD. The district is considered  a bellwether for the GOP to regain the US House majority because Donald Trump won the district in 2016, before the 2018 Blue Wave swept former Congressman Randy Hultgren out of of office to be replaced by Underwood.

Among those who are expected to be vying for the IL GOP nomination in the 14th are State Senator Jim Oberweis, State Senator Sue Rezin, and businessman James Marter.
