What going on? Respecting ratification of a Treaty, the House has NO ROLE to play. Only the President & Senate are involved in the “making” of Treaties (Art. II, Sec. 2, cl. 2, US Constitution).
A treaty, by definition, is an agreement with foreign countries or states.
Once again, the criminal organized crime called congress is violating the supreme law of the land and stabbing Americans in the back. Pelosi needs to take a hike in this matter. Trade agreements are NOT the business of the house, this usurpation is traitorous. The federal govt is the enemy of the American people
In Federalist Paper 64, John Jay wrote: “Some people want the House of Representatives to make treaties. However, house membership changes too quickly. Two years is not long enough for Representatives to study the issues required to make treaties. Therefore, the constitutional convention wisely gave the senate the power to make treaties.” John Jay, was the first Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. John Jay was an expert on the original meaning & intent of the U.S. Constitution.
Don’t forget, the federal government may not lawfully circumvent the U.S. Constitution by international treaties. It may NOT do by Treaty what it is not permitted to do by the U.S. Constitution.
This USMCA power grab by Pelosi and the house shows contempt for law by willfully subverting the United States Constitution.
Any house member who votes on this should be removed the house for ethics violations because voting on treaties is out the scope of power for the house of representatives
