WHEATON – Monday, Texas US Senator Ted Cruz publicly endorsed Republican Jeanne Ives in her bid to win back Illinois' 6th CD into Republican hands.

In an email, Cruz wrote:

“I'm asking voters to carefully consider the choices before them this election cycle and to stand with those who have proven themselves.

“For Congressional District 6 in Illinois, I am proud to offer my endorsement and support to Jeanne Ives, and I am asking you to join me in supporting her.”

In response, Ives said, “Senator Cruz has been an outstanding leader in the conservative movement and I’m honored to have his endorsement. He has demonstrated political courage in standing up to special interests in Washington, DC. His leadership has made a profound impact on Congress and the nation at large. I welcome his advice and support as we continue to unite the party and push back against the far-left that took over Congress in 2018.”

In formally endorsing Ives, Cruz joins economist Stephen Moore,  The Chicago Tribune, Republican National Committeewoman Demetra Demonte, Chicago GOP Chairman Chris Cleveland, Cook County Republican Party Chair Sean Morrison, DuPage Conservatives (Chaired by Frank Napalitano),  Lake County Republican Party (chaired by ILGOP Co-Chair Mark Shaw), Cook County Republican Party, Lyons Township Republicans, Palatine Township Republicans, Barrington Township Republicans, Hanover Township Republicans, United Hellenic Voters of America, Club for Growth, the House Freedom Caucus, FreedomWorks, Susan B. Anthony List and Former IL-06 Congressman Peter Roskam.

Rich Porter, Illinois Republican National Committeeman has also thrown support behind Ives in her 2020 race. And the entire Illinois’ Republican Congressional Delegation were recently joined by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy in hosting a fundraiser for Ives in Washington DC.

On the March 17th IL GOP primary ballot, Ives and Dr. Jan Kinzler are vying to be the district Republican nominee to face one-term Democrat incumbent Congressman Sean Casten (IL-6).
