D46175e9-c684-428e-aec4-a486b483906eLAKE COUNTY – Deep blue Illinois' political pendulum could swing away from its decades-long Democrat Party grip, says Illinois' GOP US Senate candidate Mark Curran.

That's despite the Republican National Committee telling Curran (far right in photo) he won't be getting much help from the party's top levels.

"The Democrat strategy of hiding until the online censors and left wing media get them elected is working. They don't debate, they don't talk to voters, they just trust the machine to hand them power again, so they can continue to self-enrich, while America burns," Curran told supporters in an email over the weekend.

"That means the folks at the RNC are busy playing defense," his campaign wrote. "They aren't paying much attention to my Senate race – but that's not me!"

"We can win this," Curran says.

He points to five reasons why Illinois voters could reject the Democrat US Senate incumbent Dick Durbin in 2020:

  • Third Party Candidate – an African-American Chicago millionaire could take votes from Durbin
  • Key collar counties are trending right – Lake, Kane, McHenry and others are moving to the right, Curran says.
  • Law and Order is a top issue statewide – While Democrats are voting to defund police, Curran's commitment to law enforcement is assured as he was Lake County Sheriff for 12 years.
  • America's national debt is robbing our children's future – Curran says as a fiscal conservative while Lake County sheriff, he came in under budget all 12 years.
  • A second-term President Trump's nominations must be confirmed and that will demand a GOP majority in the US Senate -  The next president will most likely have the opportunity to nominate more Supreme Court Justices. Curran says he is "100% pro-life and pro-Constitution. Dick Durbin is neither."
