Ives responds to anti-Trump protesters harassing Congress members

SCHAUMBURG – After meeting with Illinois manufacturers Friday morning, Republican Congressional candidate Jeanne Ives responded to reports that anti-Trump protesters surrounded and verbally assaulted Congress members as they were leaving the White House grounds Thursday night. 

US Senator Rand Paul and his wife were surrounded by a mob that grew immediately as the anti-Trump protesters recognized him. A handful of law enforcement and backup were called to assist, and Paul and his wife escaped – fearful for their lives. A similar situation was reported by Congressman Jim Jordan and his wife, who called on Leader Kevin McCarthy to pick them up in his Capitol Police-driven SUV.
