For many it would seem odd to have a leading Democrat as the keynote speaker at Republican fundraiser. But it’s Illinois, and nothing should surprise you.

Thursday night former Governor Rod Blagojevich spoke to a group limited to 50 people at a private country club in Saint Charles, Illinois. It was a fundraiser for Republican candidate Thomas McCullaugh, who is running for Illinois State Senate #49.

Other speakers at McCullagh's (far left in photo below) funder included Gary Franchi (center in photo) from the Next News Network, Mark Vargas (second from right), a contributor at Newsmax, and Michael Alfaro, who is co-chairman of the Illinois Trump Victory Finance Committee. Alfaro appeared by video as earlier in the day he received an invitation to attend President Trump’s acceptance speech in person on the South Lawn of the White House. It’s being reported that 2000 supporters were on the lawn Thursday night.

Blago was a big hit with the crowded talking about Illinois politics, his 7 years in prison, and his support of President Trump. He concluded his remarks by saying, “To my fellow democrats, what’s wrong with wanting to make America great again?”
