ELGIN – Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund and the Illinois chapter of Moms Demand Action – a powerful gun control group funded by Bloomberg, is celebrating getting one of their own leaders elected to the Illinois State House.
The Democrat winner in a Kane County district, Maura Hirschauer, is a former teacher and will be another vote in the Illinois General Assembly against 2nd Amendment rights. The groups boasted their victory in a press release:

From school boards to statehouses to the halls of Congress, they've shown they'll do whatever it takes to keep their families and communities safe from gun violence,” said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action. “By showing up day-in and day-out to do the heavy lifting of grassroots activism, our volunteers are ready to move from shaping policy to writing policy. I'm so proud of Maura for winning her race today, and I know that as a lawmaker, she will be the ultimate gun sense champion.”

Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action volunteers are committed to continuing to advocate for gun violence prevention amid both public health crises, the group said.
