CHICAGO – Illinois US Senator Tammy Duckworth introduced a bill Thursday to force American taxpayers to pay for abortions, arguing that it would be racist not to, LifeNews reports. Duckworth's bill would overturn the late Illinois Congressman Henry Hyde's long-held federal provision against using Medicaid funds to pay for abortions.

Earlier this week, Duckworth declared she would support only “diversity candidates” until President Biden addressed what the New York Times described as the "dearth of Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders in his administration." She and another Asian-American backed away from their threats when the Biden White House announced an Asian-American nominee would soon be presented.

And no major Republican candidate from Illinois has stepped forward to challenge her in 2022.

From Life News:

The Huffington Post reports Duckworth’s Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance Act would reverse the Hyde Amendment and force all health insurance plans, including taxpayer-funded Medicaid, to cover elective abortions. U.S. Rep. Barbara Lee, D-California, is the sponsor in the U.S. House.

“This isn’t about what side you’re on in the abortion debate, it’s about equality and opportunity plain and simple,” Duckworth said Wednesday during a press conference. “Whatever you think about the procedure, we should all agree that what’s legal for wealthy Americans should not be so inaccessible for Americans of color and low-income Americans.”

Duckworth and Lee argued that the amendment hurts poor and minority women by making it harder for them to abort their unborn babies.

  1. Tammy Duckworth is one of the most mediocre elected officials to serve in the US House and the US Senate. Since she is campaigning for reelection on a record consisting solely of party line votes and non-accomplishments, Illinois voters can expect more stunts and stupidity from Duckworth from now until Election Day.

  2. This woman is a lost cause.
She has not done anything useful for the state of Illinois.
She squeezed into her seat. She does not mind using her disability to get what she wants.
Many people have a disability and they are not as out and pushed as she uses hers.
