Former Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel

Correction: Since first published, this post has been corrected to remove incorrect information concerning Josh Mandel's candidacy. He has NOT been endorsed by President Trump as of March 1, 2022. Our apologies for the error.

84% Undecided: Republican Voters Are Not Lining Up Behind Party Insiders in Illinois Senate Primary

By Nancy Thorner -

Family-Pac Federal Chairman John McEnroe sponsored a fundraising brunch for U.S. Ohio Senate candidate Josh Mandel, running to replace Rob Portman, on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Gibson's Restaurant in Oak Brook, IL.

Josh Mandell, Ohio U.S. Senate candidate

Josh Mandel is running for the U.S. Senate in Ohio to replace retiring Senator Rob Portman.  As mentioned by Josh, he doesn't wish to go to Washington to D.C. to make friends but to make good decisions, with a Bible in one hand and the Constitution in another.

He has also been endorsed by US Senator Mike Lee (UT-R), Senator Cynthia Lummis (WY-R), Ambassador David Friedman (former Trump ambassador to Israel), Mark Levin, Club for Growth, and the Senate Conservative Funds.

With a clear record of conservative leadership and courage to stand up to powerful forces on both side of the aisle, Josh was elected to statewide office twice winning both the Primary and General elections by double-digit margins.

Mandel also has a unique story as the grandson of Holocaust survivors. His grandfather was selected for work as an able-bodied male, rather than face the gas chamber as did other members of his family.  His grandmother was taken in by a Christian family and raised as one of its own.

I liked what candidate Josh Mandel had to say about fighting for oil independence and voter integrity.  He called for photo ID, getting rid of voting machines (including Dominion), and voting on election day, exceptions being the military and medical reasons.

Screen Shot 2022-02-28 at 2.41.45 PMSpecial guest Congresswoman Mary Miller

Congresswoman Mary Miller was a special guest at the Josh Mandel Family-Pac Federal event, She is a Donald Trump America First-endorsed candidate for re-election in her Illinois 15th District.  She'll be challenging five-term GOP Congressman Rodney Davis in the June 28th IL primary in what is now the new 15th Congressional District because of Democrat redistricting.

Miller has distinguished herself in Washington as a conservative fighter who is not afraid to take on the Biden Administration and Speaker Pelosi, even when it leads to intense media criticism. She is, in fact, the only member of Congress from Illinois to oppose every aspect of the Biden-Pelosi agenda, including the disgraceful January 6th "witch hunt" Commission.

Rep. Miller is also the only member from Illinois with an A rating from Gun Owners of America, as well as a 100% rating with National Right to Life and a 100% rating with the Family research Council.  As a true leader, Mary stood up to eh Biden Administration's attempts to push critical Race Theory and extremist indoctrination in our public schools.

In the House, Mary is a proud member of the House Freedom Caucus and Republican Study Committee.  Running a third-generation family cattle and grain farm with her husband, Mary serves as a voice for small family farmers and is one of only a few farmers left in Congress.

A mother of seven children and a grandmother of seventeen, Rep. Miller was first inspired by President Trump to run for Congress in 2020.

About the evening's event

Co-hosts for the event were Jeanne Ives, Richard Uihlein, Mike Ryan, Dr. Jim Economos, and State Rep. Tom Morrison.

The opening prayer, emphasizing the need for grace and mercy, was intoned by Scott Phelps, Executive Director of A&M Partnership. Scott's prayer was based upon Isaiah 6 verses 28 – 33, which tells of six ‘woes’ that will fall on the people of Israel and Judah (and on their enemy, Assyria) as a punishment for their misdeeds.

Leadership defined

The quality of leadership, and what it involves, served as a stark reminder to those present who had already held elected office, as well as for those now running for elected office.  It is the willingness to speak truth to power, even if it means self-sacrifice in standing up for truth.

Attendee Jeanne Ives was lauded for possessing that leadership quality, despite her loss to former Governor Bruce Rauner in the 2018 Republican gubernatorial primary.

Closing plan of action

It is well to remember that we are all freedom fighters to do what must be done to save our nation's Constitutional Democracy.

Both Congresswoman Mary Miller and Ohio Senate candidate Josh Mandel, if successful, they will live up to their promises to represent well those they represent.
