WHEATON – Representative Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) issued the following statements following Governor Pritzker’s State of the State/Budget Address.
“With his budget address, the Governor painted a rosy picture of our state's fiscal health. However, he has failed to address the structural causes that have created this ongoing instability, and, when federal bailout money runs out, we will be back where we started.
"We cannot allow the Governor to deceive the people of Illinois. We cannot forget that this is the same man who not long ago was pushing the largest tax increase in state history because of Illinois’ dire financial situation. We need long-standing solutions, not dishonest election year ploys”.
