“The people have spoken.”

After a Twitter poll that generated more than 15 million votes in less than 24 hours, the 45th President of the United States of America is back on Twitter.

Late Saturday night, Elon Musk tweeted, “The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” which is Latin for “the voice of the people is the voice of God.”

51.8 percent voted in favor and 48.2 percent opposed Trump’s reinstatement according to the final results of Musk’s Twitter poll.

On Friday, Musk teased by tweeting, “Freedom Fridays…” And later that same day he announced that “Kathie Griffin, Jordan Peterson & Babylon Bee have been reinstated.”

Trump’s last tweet was on January 8, 2021 when he tweeted, “To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the inauguration on January 20th.”

While Trump’s Twitter account is reinstated, it appears that his over 88 million followers were deleted – meaning if he rejoins Twitter, he will have to rebuild his followers from scratch.

Trump has stated publicly that he does not intend on going back to Twitter, preferring to use his TruthSocial account instead.
