Earlier this week, Illinois Democratic State Sen. Celina Villanueva, Dist. 12, introduced legislation to allow “non-citizens of the United States” to register to vote in school board elections. The Democrats maintain a comfortable supermajority in the state Senate, 40-19.
The legislation was referred to the Assignments Committee where it will be reviewed – and if the committee decides to proceed with the bill, it will then be assigned to a specific committee.
The Democrats have a 4-2 majority on the Assignment Committee and the committee is chaired by Senate Majority Leader Kimberly Lightford, D.
The legislation states,
“The State Board of Education shall create a voter registration affidavit that shall be the exclusive means by which a noncitizen of the United States may register to vote in school board elections.”
Villanueva cites the Illinois Constitution, Article III, Section 1 – that school board races are considered “non-State elections” and therefore they are not subject to a “citizenship requirement.”
On Tuesday, Gov. JB Pritzker went on the attack against conservative grassroots groups and school board candidates during a press conference.
“There are organizations that are anti-LGBTQ, that are racist, that are anti-Muslim, that are supporting candidates for these local [school] boards, and they’re trying to take over at a local level and build up candidates at the local level that they can then run for the state legislature.”
Pritzker then ended his attacks by stating that,
“We are supporting candidates that are standing up for freedom.”
A quick glance at his record over the last two years – how he’s abused his executive power, forced children to wear masks in schools, shut down our economy during the pandemic – proves that he is for anything but freedom.
The school board elections will be on April 4, 2023.

Villanueva worked as a youth engagement manager at the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. She is an alumna of the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign where she earned a B.A in Latina/Latino Studies with minors in African-American Studies and Spanish.[1] She was a speaker at the 2018 Women’s March in Chicago.[2] She is considered a political ally of Cook County Commissioner Chuy García for whom she worked as an outreach director. During her first term, Villanueva was a leader in pushing for a bill that limit how much public agencies in Illinois could cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.[5]

CITIZEN VOTING IN NATION’S CAPITAL
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) introduced a bill this week to prohibit the Washington, D.C. city government from using federal funds to facilitate non-citizen voting in elections in our nation’s capital.
Sen. Cruz’s bill is in response to the D.C. Council’s recently passed measure that would allow illegal aliens to vote in local elections. Sen. Cruz also plans to introduce a Congressional Review Act resolution to overturn this measure if D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser signs it into law. About the bill, Sen. Cruz said:
“Voting is a distinct right and privilege that American citizens enjoy in the United States. It is a responsibility, not to be treated lightly, and it must be protected. Voters decide not only who will lead our country, our cities and communities, but also how our tax dollars should be spent and what policies we should adopt. Even the Washington Post agrees that non-citizen voting is a terrible idea. Allowing non-citizens and illegal immigrants to vote in our elections opens our country up to foreign influence, and allows those who are openly violating U.S. law or even working for hostile foreign governments to take advantage and direct our resources against our will.”

Socialist Chuy’s complacent dupe writes a bill, if passed and signed by our official state pig, would permit foreigners to determine school curricula, what teachers to hire AND RETAIN and how much to raise taxes. Any American citizen who opposes those aliens and their sycophant demands would be immediately branded as a White Supremist, QAnon or any other fanciful nonsense which tickles the sick, demented leftwing mind. The article says, “school board elections,” but, if it passes, some non-citizens will at least try to vote in elections for mayor, city council, and township elections. If that happens, some state’s attorneys and U.S. attorneys should try to stop them from voting, since the law would disobey a federal law.
