This is the 27th year the United States Coast Guard has delivered Christmas trees to Chicago for the needy. On Saturday, December 6, 2028, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem came to town to help the Boy Scouts and hundreds of volunteers in this endeavor. The Mackinaw is the Coast Guard Cutter docked at Navy Pier for several days with over 1200 Christmas trees on board from Michigan.
Noem was met with about 25 protesters who were kept about a block away off the property of Navy Pier. The group sang a variety of Christmas carols but changing the words from Oh Christmas Tree to Oh Kristi Noem. One sign read” The grinch stole Christmas but Kristi Noem stole my neighbors.”

The protesters were not allowed on Navy Pier property so they were hardly noticed by people attending the event. They left after about an hour.
Kristi Noem traveled to Chicago to check progress with the United States Border Patrol and ICE on removing criminal illegal aliens from Chicago and the suburbs. The effort continues with pushback from Governor JB Pritzker, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and other elected officials.

Many are talking about the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution which gives the federal government jurisdiction over these matters.
Secretary Noem visited the Chicago area back in October. She reported that she was not allowed access to the village hall in Broadview which is a public building. She was in town checking on the progress being made on removal of criminal illegal aliens where the ICE processing center is located in Broadview.
The United States Coast Guard was joined by many volunteers including Boy and Girl Scout troops. As Secretary Noem was leaving one Chicago Police Officer yelled “God bless you Kristi Noem.”
