Chicago Tribune Endorses Liz Gorman, Rebukes Elyse Hoffenberg for Using Public Office to Block FOIA Request

I regret to report that former Illinois conservative Republican Congressman Dan Crane died early Tuesday morning, May 28 at the age of 83. Dan represented Danville in Congress from 1979 to 1984. He was born in Chicago in 1936 and attended Chicago public schools and received his BA. from Hillsdale College in Michigan in 1958 and did post graduate work at the University of Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1970 and then set up a dental practice in Danville. He was the younger brother to Congressman Phil Crane, Dr. David Crane, and former Du Page County Commissioner Judy Crane Ross. His funeral service is expected to be held late this week with burial in Hillsboro, Indiana next to his late wife.
