Cook County’s first 2016 baby born to 15 year old unmarried mom

Jaylanie Aliyah Rodriguez was the first baby born in Cook County in 2016 – one minute after midnight at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge – weighing 5 lbs, 10 oz.

She's also the first baby for her mother, Aliyah Rodriguez, who is unmarried, 15 and a sophomore in high school. Jaylanie's young mother plans to finish high school and someday become a police officer.

  1. By all means let’s “Thank God” we have another teen pregnancy. Let’s Thank God we will have another child raising a child and, given the statistics, will be raised in poverty. How about we aim a little higher and start teaching responsibility, accountability and consequences? BTW the male is a criminal by definition. Why should anybody keep their mouth shut about THAT? Maybe if we STOP keeping our mouths shut, things might get better??
