WASHINGTON DC – Yesterday, Illinois' U.S. Senator Mark Kirk (R) again sided with Senate Democrats in ignoring the terrorism problem facing the nation, and focusing instead on stricter gun laws following the Muslim terrorist attack in Orlando.

“This week we saw bipartisan momentum to protect Americans from gun violence,” said Senator Kirk. “The Senate should pass this bipartisan legislation and send it to the House of Representatives.”

  1. An example of how far Kirk has fallen in GOP popularity was shown yesterday, Sunday June 26, in Geneva’s “Swedish Days” parade. This event is one of the largest in heavily-Republican Kane County. The Kane County GOP had a float, and several dozen marchers.
Only ONE “Kirk for Senate” supporter showed up. Nobody knew him. He brought a bunch of “Kirk” signs and a roll of “Kirk” stickers.
NO ONE would carry a “Kirk” sign, and few would accept a “Kirk” sticker. He was the loneliest man in the parade.
