“This morning we woke up to another night of wicked brutality and violence, and the tragic aftermath. Today we stand with the police officers and their families who are suffering, we stand with the peaceful protesters who reject such violence, we stand with the victims of all tragic killings in this country, and we stand with communities everywhere who are working hard to combat violence with peace. Jesus said, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers.’ It is our shared responsibility as Americans to work together stop this cycle of violence begetting violence. Violence against another person denies their humanity and it tears families and communities apart. As we mourn with Dallas, we pray for healing and peace.”
