By Mark Rhoads -

You don't need a special invitation to attend the Illinois Inaugural Gala in Washington, DC on Jan. 19.  All Illinoisans that would like to come are invited by the nonpartisan Illinois State Society of Washington, DC.

The society was founded in 1854 and has hosted Inauguration parties for every new President since Abe Lincoln in 1861 regardless of which party wins the White House.

Proceeds above expenses go to charity and not to any political party. All members of the Illinois congressional delegation in both parties usually attend.  For more information, please call 202-741-1284 or CLICK HERE to visit the Illinois State Society Gala website.

  1. From past experience, I know that the Illinois State Society inauguration gatherings are the most lame out of the entire 50 State societies. For the Reagan inaugurals they had a pay-your-own-way bar and pretzels. Most others had open bars, free shrimp, gumbo, beef, etc.
And why is vehement anti-Trump milquetoast Republican regular, Mark Rhoads encouraging this? Rauner and his lefty friends will boycott it, as they did the GOP convention.
So peculiarly irrelevant, these Illinois Republicans.
