AVA – Tuesday night, tornados and hailstorms devastated homes and properties at various locations throughout Illinois.

State Rep. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) posted on her Facebook page Wednesday afternoon photos of damage the downstate towns of Ava, Vergennes, and Elkville, Illinois.

"We in southern Illinois pitch in fast to help each other. So proud of our friends, families and neighbors. Cleaning up after a devastating night," she wrote.

Governor Rauner visited damaged sites in LaSalle County and held a press conference in Naplate, Illinois, with IEMA Director James Joseph. He surveyed a storm-destroyed nursing home and highway building after the press conference.
