Arlington Heights Mayor During Call With Kevin Warren: ‘The Bears Have No Choice’ But to Go to Indiana

Some people are famous for being famous but in my opinion the late Timothy Patrick Sheehan was famous for all the right reasons including being a solid conservative and a fair, honest, and decent man.

Tim was born in Chicago in 1909 where he attended St. Pius Grammar School and Joseph Medill High School. He received his B.S.C. degree from Northwestern University in 1931.

After college, Tim made his living as a food importer and wholesaler. He was elected to Congress as a Republican in 1950 and served four two-year terms until 1959. Tim ran against Mayor Richard J. Daley in 1959 winning 35 percent of the vote.

For many years, Tim was the 41st Ward Republican Committeeman and was a delegate to Republican National Conventions 1964-1984. He was chairman of the Cook County Republican Party from 1964 to 1968 and president of Peerless Federal Savings and Loan Association from 1984 to his death in 2000.

He is missed because he was a good friend and mentor to many Young Republicans.
