WASHINGTON – Within the past hour, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell marched onto the U.S. Senate floor to announce that "We have the votes" to pass a measure that would cut federal income and corporate taxes.
The tax proposal will proceed to a joint committee of U.S. House and U.S. Senate members to iron out the differences in their plans.
In response, Illinois' senior senator Dick Durbin expressed outrage on his Twitter feed that Republicans had not worked with Democrats to come up with a mutually acceptable plan as it nears passage from the U.S. Senate:
Interesting that now democrats aren’t in charge he worries about input from the American people and the minority party having a say. Illinois needs this guy in office representing Illinois like I need a case of smallpox.
When, while in control, did Democrats EVER accept input from Republicans?
When, while in control, did Democrats ever LOWER taxes?
Dick must have been sleeping under his desk the past 8 years when the deficit grew to 20 TRILLION DOLLARS.
dick durbin, what a worthless piece of trash he is, what has he ever done good for the people…NOTHING..TIME TO GET THE DICK OUT…
