FLOSSMOOR – Life advocates will hold a rally and protest outside of Illinois’ newest Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Flossmoor on Saturday, March 3, at 9 a.m. Central Time.  The event, coordinated by the Pro-Life Action League, will “expose Planned Parenthood’s true agenda and call on Village officials to investigate how they deceptively opened the Flossmoor facility,” according to Eric Scheidler, Executive Director of the Pro-Life Action League.

Scheidler noted that Planned Parenthood has a history of being deceptive about what business is really coming to town, referencing how Gemini Office Development, LLC—a wholly-owned subsidiary of Planned Parenthood—built an abortion facility in Aurora, Illinois, while lying to the City Council Planning Committee that their tenant was “unknown.”

“Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion chain, having cornered 35% of the American abortion market. But when Governor Rauner turned his back on pro-lifer voters and signed HB 40 into law, he opened the door for Planned Parenthood to make even more money doing abortions on the backs of Illinois taxpayers. This horrible law forces us to cover the cost of abortions for women insured by Medicare and state employee health plans,” explained Scheidler. “Planned Parenthood is essentially ‘cashing in’ on HB 40 with the Flossmoor abortion shop.”

Scheidler also notes that the Flossmoor facility will increase a trend recently reported in the Chicago Tribune of women crossing state lines to have abortions in Illinois. “Planned Parenthood deliberately chose to place their new abortion center only a few miles from the Indiana border. Illinois is fast becoming the abortion dumping ground of the Midwest,” added Scheidler

This rally and protest will take place in the midst of a 40 Days for Life Campaign at the Flossmoor Planned Parenthood facility.
