Chicago Republicans were out in force Sunday marching up Northwest Highway in Chicago for Saint Patrick’s Day. The Northwest Side GOP Club had several vehicles plastered with campaign signs with over 70 people walking alongside, having a fun time time.
Candidates for Illinois House seats led the crowd, including Marilyn Smolenski, Ammie Terrell-Kessem, Amanda Smith-Biela, along with Jim Dodge running for Illinois Treasurer.
GOP gubernatorial primary candidate Jeanne Ives was at Chicago's Southwest Irish Parade, which ran at the same time 25 miles away. Ives was well represented with her signs and widespread support on the Northwest Side. Some people are expecting an extremely close race Tuesday in the Republican primary between Bruce Rauner and Jeanne Ives.
President Donald Trump was also well represented, as many were wearing “Make America Great Again” hats.
Just eight days till Election Day as early voting continues now. Election day is Tuesday, March 20, 2018. More information on the Chicago Northwest Side GOP Club on Facebook and at their website: https://nwsgop.com/

Here’s the real news from last Sunday:

I don’t think Biela & Kessem are helping their General Election prospects by tying themselves to the Ives sinking ship. Too bad, just goes to show anything Chris Cleveland touches fails spectacularly.
The troll “North Cook Tea Party” strikes again.
The only thing sinking is Rauner – you really give the Tea Party a rotten name North Cook. Your group obviously have ties to the whole rotten mess – Good luck, cause you will need it.
Again i don’t like comments without names. If you like that go to capital fax where it’s all trolls working for state government, that’s who comments there. Mostly peopke who are brave using fake names.,
North Cook tea party is not tea party. I know all the tea party people. Use your name please so we have a good discussion., I don’t like trolls.
North Cook Tea Party has drawn a lot of fire with his nasty attitude against the IL GOP’s conservative base. It’s the last desperate attempts at survival. It’s pretty clear he’s got something big to lose – and his wrath should be pointed to the place it should be: At Rauner’s feet.
Rauner is the one that caused this disaster and listened to his money-sucking consultants that don’t care about the future of Illinois – only their political careers in consulting.
People with money often think they can be successful and shrewd in other areas – but Mr. Rauner is a complete failure in politics. He will not be re-elected in November if he’s able to win next week in the IL GOP primary. This is the beginning of the end of the IL GOP.
Rauner is the reason.
I want Biela & Kessem to win. Chris Cleveland is using them as pawns for the quixotic Ives campaign he’s puppeteering. It’s a shame because it will make them look really bad in their General Election campaigns. I’m not saying they should endorse Rauner either. In order to win in Democratic-majority issues they need to make it all about why the Madigan minions they are running against need to go and affiliating themselves with Ives means that the Incumbents will make them the issue.
National Socialist (Democrats) fear Jeanne Ives. Yet they only laugh at Rauner.
