DUPAGE – Democrats that insist the Trump Administration's recent tax reforms are helping only the rich and powerful are ratcheting up pressure on Republican members of Congress that supported the measure. They effectively shut down the "Tax Cuts Work!" bus tour scheduled stop in DuPage County Sunday where Congressman Peter Roskam was scheduled to speak.

Breitbart broke the story about the Job Creators' Network canceling Sunday's event, after speaking with event organizer Alfredo Ortiz.

“We are a small business advocacy group that simply wants to discuss the impact that the Tax Cuts and Job Act is having on both the small business community and the American economy overall. Unfortunately, leading up to today’s event it became apparent that the opposition was willing to go to great lengths to distract from the goal of our bus tour by disrupting our West Chicago stop by making it as volatile as possible,” Ortiz told Breitbart about the decision to cancel a bus tour stop in West Chicago.

“With 1.2 million small businesses in the state of Illinois employing almost half of the population, their best interest should be something we can all agree on,” Ortiz said. “Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case for groups determined to see free enterprise fail, regardless of the cost.”

Congressman Roskam spokesperson Veronica Vera told Illinois Review the congressman hopes to reschedule the event.

“The Job Creator’s Network made a decision to cancel Sunday’s event due to security concerns and Congressman Roskam respects that decision. We are working with JCN to schedule a new time to join them in our district and look forward to talking about tax reform and the average $4,600 tax cut a median income family of four in the Sixth District will see because of the new tax law," Vera said.

When the bus tour made a stop in Congressman Randy Hultgren's 14th CD Monday morning, Wauconda police provided security, but no anti-tax cut protestors showed up at the HM Manufacturing facility where a rally celebrating the tax cut was held.

"Congressman Roskam was honored to join his friend and colleague, Congressman Randy Hultgren, in Wauconda to talk about the efficacy of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and the positive impact it’s having on families and small businesses across the state,” Vera said.

One state Senator Dan McConchie (R-Wauconda) joined Hultgren and Roskam in promoting the tax cuts:
