Survey: Illinois’ Sen. Durbin One of America’s Least Popular Senators

According to the latest edition of Morning Consult’s Senator Approval Rankings:

  • Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) was the most popular senator for the 11th time in a row.

  • Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) saw 10-point drops in their net approval, the worst in the chamber.

  • Dick Durbin (D-IL) made the list of the bottom 10.

  1. And do you think kirk was any better? At lease we know durbin is from the far left and is total BS. But kirk… Kirk was for kirk and no one else. The big problem in Illinois is that the pathetic republican party has not been grooming someone to unseat him and as a result, we’ll have the “same old, same old” to select from.

  2. I agree that Doug Truax and Jeanne Ives should run for office, again. They probably wouldn’t win, statewide. Too many Illinois Republicans lost a statewide race and ran, in a later statewide race, thinking that the first campaign would help them win the second race. However, those candidates usually lost their second statewide race. That happened to Jim Oberweis, Joe Birkett, Jim Ryan, Steve Rauschenberger, Andy McKenna, Bill Brady, Jim Dodge, and Kirk Dillard.
    I hope that, in 2020, Peter Roskam will run for the U.S. Senate, Jeanne Ives will run for Congress, in the 6th District, and Doug Truax will run for Congress in the 11th District.
